Once I have done my research on the concept, I start planning my storyline using the knowledge I have learned on story arc and structure. From what I understand, all stories have similar structure such as protagonist, inciting incident, struggles, crisis, climax and resolution.
Brainstorm plots
1. A girl with her past that haunts her
-A girl beautiful girl that scared that people uncover her real identity and truth
-Therefore, she will go extreme lengths to keep her beauty and past identity.
2. Life of a girl under a mask
- In the front she is beautiful, but we never know how much hardship she faces
3. Extreme length to become beautiful
- Perfection is the monster
- A girl that are having the pressure to look beautiful started to have terrifying nightmares
Final concept and plot
Based on the research I have done, I came up with a plot/ storyline for my photonovel:
A girl that have been pressure by the society (family, friends, media) to look a certain way
She is contemplating to get surgery, when she started to have vivid nightmares/ vision
Perfection is the monster
Her nightmares foreshadows the things she do for beauty
Example: acid/ bleach in the dream foreshadows her applying whitening cream
Extreme lengths to look beautiful
Story about a girl that struggles with the unrealistic beauty standards of today’s society and the sinister turn of events on her road to beauty perfection.
