Everything About One Thing
Based on my mindmap, I have taken an interest on the topic "humor" especially "Gen Z humor" as someone who have been on social media 24/7 I have been constantly exposed to funny content such as memes or hillarious videos. However, whenever I show content that I find funny to my family they seem to not find it funny or at the very least entertaining, so it makes me wonder is my generation humor really that weird??
Looking into the topic!
To get started, I did a brief research on my choosen topic and from the articles I have read it seems that my generation humor could actually reflect something way bigger. Based on the article I read, it seems that many internet anthropologists refers the humor of Gen Z the new Dadaist movement. (Sanders, E, 2020) Which took me by surprised, as I have never seen our humor from that perspective before.
Research planning!
Therefore, it makes me feel excited to find out more about the humor of my generation. First, I have to determined what research methodologies to used to discover my research objectives. The research objectives of this project is to understand gen z humor on a deeper level and find out how a simple thing such as humor could actually reflect gen z and the society they live in. Few of the research methodologies I am going to utilised are observations, survey, interview & also reading articles.
Topics to explore
Brief understanding of humor & its evolution
Who is Gen Z & What is the characteristics of their humor
Understanding the context of gen z humor and it's role in today's society
1000 words about someone

This week, I have started writting up questions and conducting interview with the person I planning to write about for my project. Currently, I am still reviewing the information I have gathered from the interview and by next week I would have the 1000 word written as well as some inspiration or ideas for the layout. For now here is an update of the interview which is conducted through video call and later written in a google doc as a transcript.
