Using the divergent test I try to find 3 potential topics that I would like to research further for my translation and transmission class.
The first topic that I am looking forward to research on is about gender stereotypes. This idea came to me when my mom is telling me to sit properly/ like a girl. It makes me question why is there a specific way for girls to sit?? I would prefer to sit however I want, without the society telling me there is a right or wrong way to sit.
I believed that we should stop stereotyping people based on their gender. Through this project, I hope to educate and share more information about how harmful gender stereotype could be for our mental health.
The second topic that I am interested to research about is sleeping. I wanna research more about this topic because I like to sleep, and I feel like a person sleeping routine/ schedule could tell a lot about the person. So, maybe I could research on the psychological aspect of it. For example, your sleeping position could also tells a lot about your personality.
Besides, I have recently taken interest in the topic of dream. I find it fascinating how even though we are asleep physically, we are never really asleep subconsciously. If you look into it, there's actually much more interesting than what you have expected.
The third topic that I wanted to look further into is being single. I feel like there is a lot of stigma surrounding the topic of relationship especially if you are single. People would assumed that you are undesirable or unlikable if you are single. Being single would get extremely hard when CNY is around the corner, where you need to think about what to answer your relatives when they ask about your relationship status.
However, I know that many single people out there feel the same, and I personally don't find what's wrong if a person is single as long as they are happy. So, I wanted to share the message of "It's fine to be single" through the project.
