🌸 Week 2(DES1204) + Grad Mag

This week for our portfolio class, we learned about artist statement. Artist statement is very important because different artist statement give out different vibe, which could represent your personality. After the lecture, we discussed about Grad Mag. One of the theme that we have is diversity. This is because we could represent our classmates from different countries with different personalities with this theme. Besides, we are going to incorporate ideas from my group members such as modern and graphic design. For our individual portfolio,the theme i am going for is bright and full of illustration while still keeping it simple, this is just an idea i had in mind but I might change it in the future.

After our class, we went to Block Z for the laser cutting workshop. We were brief on the process of laser cutting starting from designing. The design is design using AI (adobe illustrator), to make a design we need to make sure to close the line at the end point, if not it would not be able to laser cut. We were also shown how to laser cut lettering because the method may vary when cutting different object. All in all, we were advised to consult our lecturer or the supervisor at the laser cutting workshop.
