This week we have to showcase our video animation. I have only completed 5 seconds of it and here is the outcome:

This week is our presentation for the International Styles & Corporate Identity topic.

In a nutshell, Swiss Design is a style of graphic design that usually focus on simplicity and could be easily recognizable. It is founded by Ernst Keller which is a professor at the Kunstgewerbeschule (literally translated “arts and crafts school”) in Switzerland.

The Swiss Design is actually influenced by the minimalism art movements such as De Stijl, Constructivism, Bauhaus, and The New Typography.

Some of the principle that could be seen in Swiss Design are

Some of the important artist in Swiss Design are

1. Max Bill

He is a Swiss architect, artist, painter, typeface designer, industrial designer, graphic designer. He is also considered as the most decisive influence on Swiss graphic design in the early 1950s.

2. Josef Müller-Brockmann

He is a Swiss graphic designer and teacher, which studied at University and Kunstgewerbeschule Zürich. He is mostly recognised for working around the grid system and his clean use of shapes, colours and Akzidenz-Grotesk typeface.

3. Armin Hofmann

He is a swiss graphic designer and teacher. Most of his work are heavily focused on elements of graphic form while remaining simple and objective.

After the presentation, we did a little activity about International Styles & Corporate Identity. Where we take a brand and try to create a poster for that brand without any words, just by using the colours or logos. We tried out a few brands here is a few of the posters.

This is a few design we have created for Baskin Robbins. We try to play around with the colours and their iconic spoon.

This a design we have created for Nintendo Switch.
