This we have a stitch binding workshop conducted by Ms Vinsze. I am interested to learned about this type of bindings because I find it useful for my final project, since we have to create a visual book.
Here is a few of the materials you need to create the binding.
1. Compass 2. White candle 3. Curved round point needles 4. Mercerized cotton yarn
5. Paper clips 6. A4 Papers 7. cutting mat

Before we start, we were introduced to some of the basic knowledge of this type of binding. We learned that this type of binding is really costly, if it was send out to be printed and bind. It might cost up to RM200++.
To start, we have to prepare a few A4 papers to create a few sets of papers to be bind. I put 4 papers to a set, but is up to you how many papers you want to put.
Secondly, we have to cut the strings. The strings have to be waxed first before using it to bind the books. After waxing it, we could put it through the needles.
Thirdly, we stich the book. The first set of book is hard to stitch since is our first time doing it and we have to create the loop hole for the thread to go through. The second and third set is much more easier to sew since is just repeating the previous steps. (TIPS!!! From this I also learned that, we have to pull our string tight everytime we stitch so the book would not have a gap in the middle)
