A continuation of the character design pt4 blog.
Taman Eng Ann, Klang
For this character, I would be focusing more on the morning market that is open daily at this area. When doing my research, I realised that majority of the shoppers/ customers are middle age lady such as housewife, so I thought of making a mom character based on the location.
First, the character I have come up with is a character similar to bird. This is because, it is a morning market, and the people that go to the market have to be an "early bird" to be able to buy groceries there. Besides, when I thought of moms buying groceries to cook for their kids, I will think of how a mother bird feed and take care of the baby birds. I feel like character personality could be shown through symbolism.
Secondly, I am thinking about a recycle bag to add into the character because it is widely use in the market.
For the second character, is about the tuition centres at Taman Eng Ann. I choose to design an egg shape design because I want it to have some sort of relation towards the other character (birds) because both the character is from the same place, but different areas.
When I was doing my research, I was finding for a similarity between all the tuition centres, so based on my observation and experience I realised that all the students attending the tuition centre share something in common, which is everyone is under some sort of pressure to be the best. So, I feel like the egg is a good representation for pressure since under high pressure the egg will crack, and same goes to the student is they under go to much pressure they will break down.
Besides, there is this word called the "all rounded student", which means students which are good at everything. I think the egg could also symbolised this.
